Epicyclic Gear Unit

Specification

The unit includes a set of epicyclic gears that allows the student to study different reduction ratios (direct drive and o verdrive), as well  as torque conversion.
A simple epicyclic gears set consists of:
Sun gear that rotates together with the input shaft.
Planet gears whose carrier can rotate.
Ring gear that rotates together with the output shaft

Epicyclic Gear Unit
The function of an automatic transmission is to change gears automatically without any human intervention.
Automatic gearboxes have two differentiated parts: the torque converter and the transmission. The automatic transmission is for
med, most importantly, by one or more planetary (epicyclic) gear sets, set of clutches, band brakes and pilot valves.
The unit simulates a Wilson Gear Box.
transmission consists of three coupled epicyclic gears sets. It will allow the students to carry out experiments of different gear ratios,as well as the torque conversions.
The epicyclic gears installed in the unit are the same and they consist of the following elements:
Sun gears .
Satellite gears set .
Common support of the satellites.
Ring .
The unit has two graduated discs located at the input and output shafts, which will allow to check the velocity and torque rati os according to the  application of the different brakes.
